At last, after 22 yrs flying from Far East around the place & checking the audio playlists..."Tobacco Road" was on the Cathay Pacific "All-Time Hits" audio show in Jan 08! I got to the bottom of the 1st column before anything interested me - Stones'Get Off" but at the top of the 2nd column was, in order, Kinks "Tired", Spencer Davis "Gimme", Troggs "Wild Thing" - all in my singles collection - and then...Nashville Teens much overdue. The Animals "We Gotta" also featured. The sound was excellent & it was the original version - not like the on the new CD! The Feb CX playlist also contained some great early rock, inc Eddie Cochrane, Carl Perkins, & Zombies. Peter in Taipei

I've been watching the NashVille Teens on Pop Gear on my cable stations for over the last year and it's not getting old at all. I always make it a point to find out when it comes on again. I believe the BEST ROCK comes from across the Pond anyway. It's great to hear that the Teens still play. If the Stones can keep rockin', so can the Teens. Will the U.S. ever get a chance to rock with the Teens in the future?

We'd love to play the States Matt, but we haven't been over since 1964.  If you can get us a tour we'd be interested !

How wonderful to see 4 Nashville Teeners from 45 yrs ago back together - just shows great music & genuinely good guys never die...TNT fan since the summer of 64 Germany.

Hi everyone I saw the nashville teens at Audenshaw grammar school one Friday night in the late 60s , can anyone tell me what would be the exact date, because i cant pinpoint it ? thanks Phil.

Hello, My mum said that my grandad was a member of the nashville teens, but he left when they went with Dob Arden. His name was Gary C. Could you write back if I'm right because I'll look a right plonker if I'm wrong. I am 12 by the way, so yeah, that probably isn't relevany but oh well... Buh bye   Hallo Bubblz. Before Don Arden picked us up we had a spell in Hamburg - don't recall Gary C from there - but before that we were in a whole series of skiffle bands in the Weybridge / Addlestone area, which sort of came together in 1962. It's quite possible that Gary played with one or more of these skiffle bands - I'm asking my mates if anyone remembers him.

I played and sung in a group called The Game in the 60's and supported the teens a couple of times, once at the boston gliderome in lincolnshire.I first saw Ray walking towards me backstage. He was singing "one two effing three". Reason being that was the song that pipped them to the No. 1. position. We were the same height which pleased me. I was 15 years old then.

I remember you guys playing the old Co-Op Hall in Tolworth when I was 15 and just starting to explore the local music scene. We had some truly good music from Epsom right through to Kingston, Richmond, Twickenham and beyond. I heard Tobacco Road on Radio Luxemburg, then lost track of you. Good to learn now that you kept putting out that great sound.

This is probably a question for Peter in Taipei but if anyone else knows please jump right in. John Allen aka Jaffa. How did he get his nickname? Was it because he was always eating Jaffa Cakes? Would be interested in knowing as would be a bit of Teens trivia.

Great site, I have always been a fan, the other day my cable company started showing POP GEAR from 64,and if you didn't recall you had 2 songs in the film...."t/Road" "Google". I deal in very Rare rock n Roll such as RIAA awardsBeatles,Stones, etc. I would like to exchange links with your site. I have 2 questions 1) Did your band ever receive any record awards from the U.K. or U.S.? The second question,A good friend of mine is Mike Smith from the DC5,did you ever tour with them? If you do look at my site please excuse howit looks. My host switched DNS numbers, so now the sight bears no likeness to the original at all, but you can see some cool stuff. I am building 2 NEW sites that will look very nice, those are the sites that I would like to exchange links with you. Thanks, Michael Lorenzo RETRIEVERSERVICES.NET 001-603-206-5576

Your Films page doesn't list Pop Gear, which IMDB lists as a 1965 film - the Teens perform both Tobacco Road and Googler Eye in this movie. I'd like to know, if you can say, what is the Gibson hollow-body guitar with the pointy horns shown in Google Eye? I've never seen that type of guitar before.  Rick - have a look at the THEIR MUSIC section of the website.  You will see that POP GEAR is still available - it was subsequently re-released under the title GO GO MANIA.   No idea about the guitar - I will try to find out for you.

Hello Spud and Ray (and Len. Long time no see! Well I have chatted to Spud in Bracknell a few times over the years. I nearly died when I read Spud's been in the band for 23 years, Christ I was going out with him when he joined! We were sooooooo young lol. I still chat about the times I went on the gigs with you all, remember when the old Transit van's engine caught on fire! Also one of my fondest memories was at the Radio ones birthday bash at the Hammersmith Odeon, then onto Legends night club poxy Lemmy from Motor head grabbed me n we all nearly had a fight! Also the parties at Maurine’s Starr’s house in London Loads of memories! Anyhow I went on to have 2 Wonderful Boys who are now both over 6ft1 and still only 13 and 15! I have finally found my soul mate in Alan and married for the second time in 2004. I hope you are all doing well. Had a laugh at Spuds broken leg!!!!!!!!! Take Care Big Hugs Gaye xxxxx

Just to say that back in round about 1964 0r 65 the band I was in (007s) backed the Teens at the Bure Club, Mudeford, nr Bournemouth. You drove an old blue ambulance then - we were in rather grim dormabile; think we shared food later at an all-night greasy spoon at Camberley where we met up with many other later-to-be-famous bands!
