The Teens were always my favorite - better than the Beatles in my opinion. Tobacco Road rocked then and rocks now. Ray & Zalatnay Sarolta's Little Bird is awesome. Ray's version of House Of The Rising Son is the only version I've heard that is better than The Animals. Wish I could have seen the teens live in the 60's. Ray Philips rocks - please keep going man, you make me feel young every time I hear you sing.

I agree with Rob Thompson: TNT remains one of the outstanding 60s rock-blues recordings, as were Sun Dog (that The Teens wrote) & Revived 45 Time - all released as vastly underestimated B-sides & amongst the most representative of Teens music. I think the best thing they ever did on stage that was never recorded was Smokestack Lightning - perhaps they could set that right & do it now?

just bought 3 mp3s off Amazon; hope you get your cut. Was very disappointed "Poor Boy" wasn't offered. first saw the band in the David Hemmings film but the performance in Gonks GW was so good I had to watch it twice to truly appreciate the quality: devotion to blues tradition firmly grounds tightly finessed delivery that outshines Asian ultra precise copy bands, let alone sloppy Yank originators.
Thanks Morlock - sadly "the management" sold out our rights forty years ago - we don't get a penny from royalties - so why not buy our CD (see front page of website) - that does help the lads financially.

At last, after 22 yrs flying from Far East around the place & checking the audio playlists..."Tobacco Road" was on the Cathay Pacific "All-Time Hits" audio show in Jan 08! I got to the bottom of the 1st column before anything interested me - Stones'Get Off" but at the top of the 2nd column was, in order, Kinks "Tired", Spencer Davis "Gimme", Troggs "Wild Thing" - all in my singles collection - and then...Nashville Teens much overdue. The Animals "We Gotta" also featured. The sound was excellent & it was the original version - not like the on the new CD! The Feb CX playlist also contained some great early rock, inc Eddie Cochrane, Carl Perkins, & Zombies. Peter in Taipei

I've been watching the NashVille Teens on Pop Gear on my cable stations for over the last year and it's not getting old at all. I always make it a point to find out when it comes on again. Hello, My mum said that my grandad was a member of the nashville teens, but he left when they went with Dob Arden. His name was Gary C. Could you write back if I'm right because I'll look a right plonker if I'm wrong. I am 12 by the way, so yeah, that probably isn't relevany but oh well... Buh bye   Hallo Bubblz. Before Don Arden picked us up we had a spell in Hamburg - don't recall Gary C from there - but before that we were in a whole series of skiffle bands in the Weybridge / Addlestone area, which sort of came together in 1962. It's quite possible that Gary played with one or more of these skiffle bands - I'm asking my mates if anyone remembers him.

Also one of my fondest memories was at the Radio ones birthday bash at the Hammersmith Odeon, then onto Legends night club poxy Lemmy from Motor head grabbed me n we all nearly had a fight! Also the parties at Maurine’s Starr’s house in London Loads of memories! Anyhow I went on to have 2 Wonderful Boys who are now both over 6ft1 and still only 13 and 15! Just to say that back in round about 1964 0r 65 the band I was in (007s) backed the Teens at the Bure Club, Mudeford, nr Bournemouth. You drove an old blue ambulance then - we were in rather grim dormabile; think we shared food later at an all-night greasy spoon at Camberley where we met up with many other later-to-be-famous bands! Still crazy I hope!

A few yeas back I worked with a guy called Martin Starr who claimed to be the Teens origional guitarist but can't find any reference to him.He did show me one of their Lp's which seemed to feature a much younger version of him.Was he pulling a fast one?   Martin certainly wasn't a founder member, but we have had many "deps" during our career and he may have played at some time.

Hi! My name is Cass Greenwell. I'm 12 years old I come from Perth, Western Australia, but I'm currently living in Taipei - Taiwan. I did a project on you guys and some other 60's rock music bands, such as the Rolling Stones, Kinks, Yard Birds etc. That's when I really got introduced to your music and the music of the 60's - I think it's great. I can understand why my parents like this music soooo much! I really think Tobacco Road rocks. Seeya Cass

I've cleaned up three years of messages and started a new guestbook. Please feel free to share your thoughts about "The Nashers" with the rest of the World.
